Working with what you have
I am sure you have all read the books and looked at the diagrams of the perfect conformation for a sport horse. Conformation is not the only thing we consider when purchasing a horse however as soundness, or a lack of it, is the second most common cause of poor performance. It is something we need to take very seriously.
Breed traits, individual variation and what is suitable and available result in many of the horses we end up with being less than ideal. This talk aims to refresh your knowledge on the conformational variations and to point out which are the more likely to cause lameness issues. Also what can be done by you, your trainer, your farrier and your vet to try and reduce the onset of any problems, detect them early and treat them appropriately.
Some of the services Athletic Equine offer are:
- Lameness Investigations
- Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation
- Acupuncture for all your animals
